Axis of Feeble

From Guardian Unlimited Politics | Special Reports | Blair and Bush – an extract

Bush: The decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power was controversial. We did not find the weapons of mass destruction that we all believed were there, and that’s raised questions about whether the sacrifice in Iraq has been worth it. Despite setbacks and missteps, I strongly believe we did and are doing the right thing. Saddam Hussein was a menace to his people; he was a state sponsor of terror; he invaded his neighbours. Investigations proved he was systematically gaming the oil-for-food programme in an effort to undermine sanctions, with the intent of restarting his weapons programmes once the sanctions collapsed and the world looked away.

  1. If by all, he means he, B-Lair and his Neo-con cronies believed it, then I suppose he is right.
  2. I wonder if Dubya can remember who actually put Sadam into power and sold him weapons to invade his neighbours. Here’s a clue, its an anagram of ICA.

Big Brother 7: Dawn has left!

Dawn has left as well now. She was called to the Diary Room this morning where Big Brother reminded her of the rules of the Big Brother house, specifically communication with the outside world, and informed her that she would be ejected immediately, and must leave through the Diary Room.

So the two most interesting contestants have left already. I guess the rest of the show is going to just feature boring post teens pawing each other. Yawn!

Ready-made beans on toast

Apparently, Heinz is going to market a “ready meal” version of . . . BEANS ON TOAST. Beanz meanz dumbasz, I guess. I despair, I really do. If we have raised a generation of people that cannot fathom the complexities of making this classic dish then I think it may be the end of civilisation as we know it.
