Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing (BBC1) waltzes back onto our screens this Saturday, more sequined and glittery than ever. With two weeks extra added to the show, there are two more celebrities than last year taking part. 14 stars will be paired with internationally renowned professional dancers in the hottest competition of 2006. Hurrah! Bye bye X-Factor, I’ll call you!

Taking part this year will be:

• Louisa Lytton (Ruby from Eastenders) dancing with Vicente Simone.
• Peter Schmeichal (ex-Man Utd goalie and inspiration for the name of Chesney’s dog on Corrie) dancing with Erin Boag.
• Spoony (A Radio 5 DJ) dancing with Aleksandra Jordan.
• Mica Paris (A Soul Singer. Her biggest hit was “My One Temptation”. She now co-hosts What Not To Wear) dancing with Ian Waite.
• Georgina Bouzova (Ellen from Casualty) dancing with James Jordan.
• Jimmy Tarbuck (Old school comic and gameshow host who is probably most famous now for being Liza Tarbuck’s dad) dancing with Flavia Cacace.
• Jan Ravens (Dead Ringers regular and Spitting Image impressionist) dancing with Anton Du Beke.
• Ray Fearon (Corrie’s Nathan) dancing with Camilla Dallerup.
• Matt Dawson (rugby player) dancing with Lilia Kopylova.
• Carol Smillie (Changing Rooms presenter) dancing with Matthew Cutler.
• Mark Ramprakash (cricketer) with Karen Hardy.
• Emma Bunton (No idea who she is) with Darren Bennett.
• Nicholas Owen (ITV News presenter and writer of a book on the history of British trolleybuses, WooHoo) with Nicole Cutler.
• Claire King (Emmerdale and Bad Girls) with Brendan Cole
