Thanks to Rupert ‘Bastard’ Murdoch and possibly Richard ‘Beardy Git’ Branson, the Sky TV channels are no longer on NTL (Virgin Media or whatever it’s called now) which means no 24, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, Lost or Battlestar Galactica. GAH! I’ll have to work out how to download them of the interweb! In the mean time, here’s a clip of an angry woman.
This is not the first time that these two have been at it, I think this personal TV war all started when Richard tried to put a stake into ITV, unfortunately for Branson, Murdoch out gunned him and took the stake. Now they are both arguing about what they are arguning about. Branson says that Murdoch wants double the money for the sky channels and Murdoch says its a mere 20% extra. There war is becoming our problem as Virgin is now threatening to take Living TV, Bravo, Trouble and Challenge away from the Sky viewers… Not that I think these channels really compare with the viewing pleasure of Sky One, Sky Sports and Sky News but how far will it go?
I have Freeview anyway, the politics is what interests me, I don’t watch TV much anymore.
Hi,
Taking those channels off Sky would hurt Virgin because of loss of advertising revenues. I heard that was around Sixty million quid. So it would probably be a last resort for them.
According to Virgin they are pursing legal action in the High Court. So Hopefully, it should get resolved at some point without effecting viewers.
