If you can get past the fact that it stars the bloke from the BT ads then it is worth a look. Yes, I know James Nesbitt has been in lots of other stuff and very good he was too, but the ad campaign always makes me think he’s going to start flogging some phone related service at any second.
Anyhoo, James Nesbitt plays Dr Tom Jackman, a distance relative of the historic Dr Jekyll. In the present day, the good doctor has to keep his evil alter ego from finding out about his wife and kids. But Nesbitt isn’t the only one making a transformation – playing his employee and confidante, Michelle Ryan has gone about as far from her previous role as Eastenders’ Zoe “You’re not my mum” Slater as you can imagine. Meera Syal rounds things out as a lesbian private detective. It could all be a little bit cheesy but with conspiracy thrills, gore, deft lines: “Just once… could you tell me where you’ve left the car?”, it could be good fun all the same.
