The Apprentice: Lee McQueen pulls a sickie

Having spent twelve weeks battling to become Suralun’s apprentice, Lee Queen has pulled a sickie on his first day at work.

According to press reports, the 30-year old former recruitment sales manager, who secured the £100,000 a year job after winning the popular BBC TV series, phoned in on Monday morning to say he was feeling ill.

An insider told one newspaper that the no-show by McQueen, who returned from a week’s holiday in Spain with his girlfriend, the improbably named Nicola Jellyman, on Sunday, would make Sir Alan Sugar really cross”.

I give McQueen six months before he’s discreetly shuffled out the back door. Either that or he’ll be posted to some far flung and forgotten corner of Suralun’s evil empire where, managing a team of one, he’ll be looking after a stationary cupboard.

Bet Suralun wishes he had the Rottweiler in his kennel now instead of a reverse pterodactyl.
