Big Brother 9: Pop goes the weasel

And the seventh person to be evicted from Big Brother house is…

Luke Marsden!

This week’s eviction vote should have just been between Luke and Dale; they received the most nominations from their fellow housemates. However, Big Brother decided that this was the week they were going to start enforcing their zero tolerance policy on rule breaking so further a six housemates faced the vote as punishment: Darnell Swallow, Kathreya Kasisopa, Maysoon Shaladi, Mohamed Mohamed, Rachel Rice and Stuart Pilkington. BB also announced that the voting lines would be closing earlier than usual, the day before the live eviction show at midnight, for “administrative reasons”. To complicate things even more, Maysoon asked to leave before the eviction and was allowed to without the usual song and dance routine.

Whether or not this meant there was a last ditch dastardly attempt by the producers to keep Luke in the house, we’ll never know. But they hardly had an effect on the outcome. Luke received 37% of the vote. In an eight way eviction, that’s pretty much a landslide.
